Student Assessment |
It is important for students to demonstrate mastery of course material in a variety of ways (e.g., written and oral presentation, class projects and discussions, application in the field). Through these methods students demonstrate that they are learning to recognize and challenge assumptions, apply knowledge in new contexts, and understand key issues in the field. Providing opportunities for students to learn through a variety of media and presentation formats in my classes, including student presentations and hands-on projects, is important to ensure that all students are able to learn in a way that is effective for them and to explore activities that push their comfortable limits.

Professional Development
|
I am committed to continuing to learn about effective and engaging teaching practices, and to improving my abilities as an instructor at the collegiate level. As such, I actively seek out opportunities to learn more about teaching through a variety of professional development opportunities (e.g., the Tufts University Graduate Institute for Teaching, and courses and workshops presented by the Cornell University Center for Teaching Excellence).
